Is it safe to wash my convertible?

Yes, it is safe to go through our tunnel in a convertible. We ask that you make sure your roof is closed completely. We can even turn off our top brush and air dryers if you prefer, just ask one of our attendants.

What are the size limits of the car wash tunnel?

  • Height limit: 84” (7’2”)

  • Width limit: 86” (outside tire to outside tire)

  • Tire width: no wider than 12.5” per tire

  • Clearance: chassis must be at least 4” above flat pavement

  • Please check with attendant before getting in line if unsure

Can you wash pickup trucks, vans,
and Jeeps?

Yes, but please see wash tunnel limits above. Open bed pickups must be broom swept clean before entering car wash line. Please no construction vehicles or service trucks with any type of rack, equipment, or tools.

Can I go through car wash with roof mounted racks?

It depends on the style of rack: luggage rack yes, as long as they are secure. No bike racks, ski racks, or canoe/kayak racks. Please see one of our attendants if you have a question.

Can I go through car wash with rear mounted racks?

No. Rear racks must be removed before entering car wash line.

Do I have to get a car wash in order to use the vacuums?

Yes, with every car wash we offer free vacuuming at all locations. If you want to just vacuum your car, we have a Pay Vac area at our Newark, Delaware location.

What about all the water used at a car wash?

Blue Hen Car Wash is very concerned about our environment. The water we use is put through a recycling system to conserve the amount of water we use.

Wash Club Member Questions

How does Wash Club Membership work?

This is an automatically recurring monthly membership that allows you to wash your vehicle every day for one low monthly price.

How do I pay for a Wash Club Membership?

The membership will be automatically charged monthly to your credit/debit card as long as you are a Member.

Can I change the Wash Club plan that I selected?

Yes. Members can change their club plan any time they want. Simply stop by the office to change your club plan and monthly rate.

Can I buy upgrades if I’m in the Club?

Yes. Simply choose a service or wash package upgrade at the pay station and pay the difference. Your monthly Club rate will not change when you buy an upgrade.

Can I suspend my Wash Club membership if I’m away on business or out of town?

Yes. Just let us know that you will be away, and we will suspend your account. When you are ready to reactivate just give us a call or stop in and let us know.

What if I want to cancel?

Members may cancel at any time. No refunds or credits will be given for partial periods. There is no long-term contract.

How often can I wash my vehicle?

You may wash every day but not more than once a day per membership vehicle.

Can I add another vehicle to my Wash Club Membership?

Members may add additional vehicles to their account. We offer a discounted rate for additional vehicles. All vehicles must be charged to the same credit/debit card in order to receive multi-car discount.

How do I sign up?

Start today and sign up online or Download Easy Pass Wash Club Application. Print and fill-out completely. Bring filled-out application and your car to a Blue Hen Car Wash location, and a car wash attendant will complete the setup process.
